What are your rates?

We use a third party booking software that manages our rates taking into account peak seasons, the day of the week, holidays and events in the area. Our lowest rates are typically weekdays in the winter.

How many guests does each house accommodate?

Each house is provided a sleeper sofa or an air mattress, allowing for the 2 extra guests.

What is your cancellation policy?

A full refund, minus a 4% processing fee will be given if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of booking your stay.

• Your full balance can be applied to booking one of our other houses and/or different dates if done so more than 30 days prior to your stay. 

• A 75% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 6 months prior to your stay.

• A 50% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to your stay. 

• The cleaning fee will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 24 hours prior to your stay.

Where are the houses located?

We have 2 properties. We call one “the 18,” because it is  on 18 acres, and the other is called “the 75,” because… well, you guessed it, it’s on 75 acres. They are roughly 4.5 miles apart.

• OG, Boho and Hygge are at “the 18” and located off of State Route 180, about 1 mile from 33.

• Roca, Overlook and Ellwood are at the 75 and located off State Route 374, about 1 mile from 33. 

Both properties are a 5-15 minute drive to Logan, OH and multiple hiking trails (like Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave and Rock House). They are about 15-20 minutes to Lancaster, OH and 30 minutes to Athens, OH.

Are any houses ADA accessible?

Yes, the Hygge is ADA compliant, and has a parking pad with a ramp to the front door, a first for bedroom and a first floor ADA accessible bathroom.

Is The Box Hop pet friendly?

We allow up to 2 dogs per house. We charge a $100 pet fee, and ask that they never be left unattended or allowed on the furniture. We also ask that any waste outside is cleaned up.

Can the houses accommodate weddings or large events?

For a typical reservation, no guests other than the ones listed when you book are permitted.

We can accommodate intimate weddings and events for a fee. 

Each house has a maximum guest count for these events.

  Only the guests listed on the reservation can stay overnight. 

Extra tables and chairs from our wedding venue are available and can be set up for an additional fee.

When is check in and check out?

Check in is at 4pm, and check out is at 11am. We offer a 2 hour early check in or a 2 hour late check out for a $200 charge.

Are the houses secluded?

Yes. Each house is secluded in the woods. Providing peace, quiet and a good amount of privacy. Sometimes in the winter you can see one of the other houses if you really look for it, but for the most part you will feel alone.

What about the names of the houses?

The OG: The first house we built and the “original” Box Hop

The Boho: Our 2 person bohemian bungalow

The Hygge: It’s pronounced “hoo-gah”, and it means “cozy”

The Roca: It’s pronounced “roh-kuh” and is spanish for “rock”

The Overlook: The house sits at the top of a hill and overlooks our beautiful property

The Ellwood: Designed after mid-modern inspiration from Craig Ellwood
