Although the Hygge is quite minimalistic, there are no luxuries spared. If you’re not out enjoying Hocking Hills, you can cozy up to one of our matching suspended wood-burning fireplaces located both inside and outside the box. We’ve also added a full glass barrel sauna nestled in an enclosed “spa area” of the deck that overlooks the ravine along with a hot tub.

When you arrive to the Hygge, take notice of the Scandi vibe and unique look - can you tell it was built with shipping containers? Wait until you see the back side where four of the bedrooms have their own private patio created from the doors of the containers. Mighty yet minimal this one.

Number 4 in builds for the Box Hop, the Roca Box Hop - pronounced [ROH] + [KUH] means “rock” in Spanish, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting name for this hop; a whimsical home wedged between towering rocks. The aesthetic in this box is eclectic and unique and fun! Like a fairytale, the Roca transports you to a world of its own, where you can cozy up with a book, pull out a board game or simply sit and enjoy the view and sounds of nature all around. Fun challenge: can you spot the mini mushroom somewhere in the hop and Sir Ramsey?

NUMBER 5 - THE OVERLOOK! The name speaks for itself, as it "Overlooks" the beautiful rolling acres of Hocking Hills, Ohio. There was no other name that seemed to fit. The design of this home is much like a beach house in the sense that we’ve placed the kitchen and all the living area onto the second floor so that it is elevated and has the best views. On the first floor are the bedrooms, laundry room, and access to the outdoor fire pit.

The Overlook features 3 bedrooms (one a bunk room), 1.5 baths, and a hot tub. It is enough space to host 7-8 people.

The Ellwood

Amenities

NUMBER 6 and NEWEST! The Ellwood Box Hop is a single story, minimal Mid-Century box hop which was designed to span a ravine that is directly over a waterfall! The Ellwood is named after an influential designer based out of LA in the 70’s who was known for his minimal steel and glass (couldn’t be more box hop) designs, Craig Ellwood.

Although everything is on one story, this home is a jaw dropper. Spanning the seasonal waterfall, you are suspended in the air overlooking the waterfalls edge, into the deep ravine below. Did we mention that there is a glass floor inside? From inside you can look out 3 large panoramic windows to the expansive ravine and waterfalls edge, OR you can look beneath your feet to catch a glimpse of the water before it tumbles over the edge.

INSIDE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Two bedrooms; 2 full size beds

  • One full bathroom

  • Glass floor

  • Full kitchen stocked with cookware & serving dishes

  • Washer and dryer

  • Air mattress (queen) available

| The House |

The third Box Hop on the 75 acres, the Ellwood, is situated towards the top of the property and spans a ravine, suspended over a waterfall. The house is absolutely breathtaking in all seasons as you can watch the water tumble over the falls in spring/summer or see them completely frozen into majestic pieces of art in the winter.

There is no shortage of views at this hop and you can easily hike your way towards the marked trails near the other canyon on the property to see the larger cave and waterfall. This house is very secluded and peaceful. A fan favorite by far.

OUTSIDE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Deck overlooking the ravine with waterfall

  • Outdoor fire pit

  • Gas grill

  • Hot tub

  • Trails and waterfall on property to hike and explore
